You’d Be So Pretty If...
Four out of five women are dissatisfied with their appearance and that body dissatisfaction spills over to their daughters. Every mom wants her daughter to feel confident in her own skin, but may often unconsciously impose her own "body image blueprint". Dara Chadwick was Shape magazine's 2007 Weight-Loss Diary columnist. During that year, she transformed her relationship with her body, but what she didn't realize was how the experience would affect the body image of her 12-year-old daughter. Her book grew out of this experience. Tune in and find out how we can learn to see ourselves with fresh eyes and a new perspective, and in turn, give our daughters an incredible gift.

Celebrating the Women of Maryland! The Maryland Women's Heritage Center
The MWHC is the first state project of its kind in the nation which will provide a place to learn about the many accomplishments and contributions of Maryland's diverse women. Although women comprise slightly more than half the population of Maryland, their extraordinary accomplishments have largely been invisible. This absence deprives the youth of our state of inspiring role models and stories of achievement and success. Our state's history has been incomplete. Join us as Jill Moss Greenberg, the Executive Director of the MWHC, talks with us about this exciting center that will celebrate the women of Maryland.

Women in Shadow and Light: Journeys from Abuse to Healing
Jan Goff-LaFontaine came up with a revolutionary idea: that reconnecting abused women with their sense of beauty - achieved through fine art photography - would assist them in throwing off the shame that abuse so often causes. Jan's book, Women in Shadow and Light: Journeys from Abuse to Healing, features women from all over the country, ages 19-95, from every economic situation and spanning all ethnicities. Forty women bared all to express their triumph over trauma and shared their journeys from the violence of abuse to tranformation and healing. Jan's book is described as the most hope-filled book you will ever read about abuse and recovery.
